Network Cabling

Cabling that is built to last

Good cabling saves problems later. We run Cat6A where it makes sense, terminate to patch panels or outlets, and label every link so changes and fault-finding are simple.

Each run is tested and results can be supplied on request. Cabinets and cable management are kept neat, which makes your network easier to maintain and extend.

Expert guide

Structured network cabling explained

Choosing Cat6, Cat6A or fibre

Cat6 supports gigabit speeds up to 100 metres, which suits most homes and offices. Cat6A handles 10 gigabit over the full 100 metres and suits demanding or future-proofed installations. Fibre is the right choice for long runs between buildings or floors. We recommend what fits your needs rather than the most expensive option.

Patch panels, cabinets and labelling

A neat cabinet makes faults easy to trace. We terminate cable to patch panels, label every outlet and port, and fit tidy patch leads so your network is simple to manage. Each run is tested before handover.

Cabling for CCTV, Wi-Fi and phones

Network cable can power cameras and access points, so one good installation supports several systems. Our CCTV installation and Wi-Fi installation teams plan cable routes together to avoid clutter and repeat work.

Tidy-ups and upgrades

If your comms cabinet is crowded or unlabelled, we can tidy, document and add spare ports. See also home CCTV, business CCTV and the 40 London areas we cover.

Do you cable occupied offices?

Yes. We plan the work to keep disruption low.

Why choose Cat6A?

It supports fast speeds and suits long-term network needs for homes and businesses.

What cable should I choose for a new network?

Cat6 suits most homes and small offices, while Cat6A is better for 10 gigabit or longer-term plans. We advise after a short survey.

How far can a network cable run?

Standard twisted-pair Ethernet cable is limited to 100 metres per run. For longer distances we use switches or fibre.

Can you tidy a messy comms cabinet?

Yes. We re-patch, label and organise cabinets so changes and fault-finding become simple.

Do you label and test the cabling?

Yes. Outlets and ports are labelled and each run is tested before we hand over.
